What's Confirmed About GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026, with pre-loading available from November 12. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99.

Grassrivers

Leonida's swampland region — think the Everglades. Leaked footage and trailer scenes show murky waters, dense vegetation, and wildlife. This environment type didn't exist in GTA 5, which means entirely new gameplay possibilities: airboat chases, gator encounters, and swamp hideouts.

Port Gellhorn

An industrial port area that could serve as a hub for cargo-based missions, heists, and criminal operations. Port areas in GTA games have historically been important for business-related activities.

Counties

Leonida is divided into several counties — Vice-Dale, Leonard, and Kelly have been spotted in official trailer footage, while Ambrosia and Mariana have been identified through community analysis of leaked footage. The Protagonists — Jason & Lucia

Their story is described as Bonnie and Clyde-inspired — a criminal duo navigating Leonida's underworld together. The narrative will be structured in chapters, the same storytelling approach Rockstar used in Red Dead Redemption 2.

For GTA Online: Players have historically created custom characters rather than playing as story protagonists. GTA 6 Online will likely follow this approach.

Gameplay Mechanics — Confirmed & Expected

Combat

• Redesigned weapon wheel with a more realistic, limited loadout — similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's approach (exact carrying limits haven't been officially detailed)
• Dual-wielding status unconfirmed — it's unclear whether GTA 6 will include this feature

Common Beginner Mistakes to Avoid

Based on a decade of GTA 5 Online, here are the mistakes that cost new players the most:
